Aphrodite of the sunshine,
I linger in delight,
A free and gentle spirit
taking pleasure in my flight.
I feed upon the clover,
And drink the meadow's wine,
I skip along the pathways
of the wind for they are mine.
I'm a lonely windswept dreamer,
on a melancholy ride,
to a place called paradise,
where those that flutter by abide.
Will you be my Monarch?
I’ll your Painted Lady be,
Together we can fly away
and like butterflies be free.

This is one of the best poems I have read here on HubPages...I was absolutely enchanted reading your lovely and lilting poem out loud... I especially love the lines :
" I feed upon the clover,
And drink the meadow's wine,
I skip along the pathways
of the wind for they are mine."
You have written a most beautiful poem, full of melodious flair, with a carefree flow that pleases the heart and frees the soul...Thank you, Larry
